DVD «Glimpses from Stordø Kisgruber 1960»

In the book of 136 pages with a format of 22 × 21 cm, the story of the electric railway between Litlabø and Grunnavågneset is presented, in addition to the small trains that transport rock masses and goods in and outside the mine. And finally, the story of how the Venelaget for Gruo, through diligent efforts, managed to reconstruct a part of the mining railway has been recorded. For a closer presentation and review, see here.

The book «New and old tracks in Gruo»

New DVD - released in 2011 - with unique film footage from Stordø Kisgruber. Tor Resser documented the mining facility with 16 mm color film in 1960. Now, 50 years later, the recordings have been digitized and edited. It is worth reading comments on the film, and the combination of film and comments gives a great presentation of the mining facility. Unique footage from both the lift house, loading in the mine, tipping of wagons in the shaft tower, the women picking out boulders at the spoon plant, laundry boxes and hardening tables in the laundry, and not least of the electric railway and shipping quay.

The film has 7.5 minutes of playing time.

The book «Mine - The Litlabø Society through 100 years»

The book was initially donated by Stord municipality in 1991. The Venelaget for Gruo was allowed to take over the remaining edition from the municipality a few years ago. Now there are not so many items. that before the book is sold out. If you are interested in dense local history from a dangerous community, secure the book.
