On Saturday 1 September 2012 - exactly one week after the first bridal race was held in Gruo - there was another bridal race in Gruo.
This time it was Rebekka Moe and John Einar Aase who said a final yes to each other. That they wanted to celebrate the wedding in Gruo was almost natural, as they lived on Gjerde, the mound behind Heishuset. The wedding itself took place in Stord church, while the wedding party was held in Heishuset in Gruo.
While the bridal couple were photographers, the guests were greeted by members of the Venelaget for Gruo and shown under the shaft tower, where refreshments were served. Afterwards, the guests entered the "Cathedral" in Høgåsen, where the bridal couple got in the carriage by train. In “The Cathedral there was a short concert with Nils Horn and his band. When the bride and groom came out driving with the train, the guests stood along the track and greeted them. In the evening there were fireworks, although the weather was not the best.
The vein team for Gruo will probably not have more bridal races in Gruo.
